GOVERNMENT LIFTS RESTRICTIONS ON OUTDOOR WEDDINGS- FOR SOME !

Jun 20, 2021 | Humanist Ceremonies, Weddings

There was a surprise announcement this morning. Outdoor weddings are now  legal! HURRAH!!!

I was thrilled! It sounded great. But read the small print and it only applies to licensed venues and ceremonies conducted by Registrars.

Despite years of campaigning. Humanists UK are still fighting to have Humanist Marriages legally recognised in England.

In the past, the Government has argued that it would be unfair if Humanists could conduct legal ceremonies outdoors whereas civil marriages had to be held indoors !!!!!

I feel this is grossly unfair (and yes I know I’m biased!) but for a more balanced and informed approach please do read today’s briefing from Humanists UK:

They are not quite as cross as I am today !! (-
